Okay, let's talk gifts!
Every December I get the same text: "What do I get the person who cooks for everyone?" And listen — as the person who is that person (and a Le Cordon Bleu grad who has cooked in professional kitchens), I have OPINIONS. This is my real list: the tools I reach for every single week, the splurges worth every penny, and the little stocking stuffers that make a cook feel seen.
Shopping for the baker, the host, the one who has everything — or quietly building your own wishlist? (I see you. Same.) Jump straight to what you need:

From My Kitchen to Yours: What I’d Actually Gift Myself
If you only read one section, make it this one. These are the tools that earn their spot on my counter every single week.
ZWILLING Pro 8″ Chef’s Knife$$$
The knife I grab every single day. A truly sharp knife is the one upgrade that turns cooking from a chore into a joy. Already have one they love? Add the matching ZWILLING Pro santoku.
Big, sturdy, and pretty enough to leave out on the counter. Give that good knife a good home.
Real Stainless Steel Pans$$$
My Emeril Lagasse set from 2021 still looks brand new. All-Clad is the gold standard, but you don’t need All-Clad money: the pros at Cult Flav swear by Tramontina Tri-Ply Clad, with a Made In frying pan as the splurge.
The KitchenAid Stand Mixer$$$$
My ride-or-die. Mine has whipped more cream, kneaded more dough, and churned more ice cream than I can count.
KitchenAid Ice Cream Maker Bowl$$
Already have the mixer? Gift an attachment. This is the exact bowl behind my homemade vanilla ice cream. Also great: the metal food grinder and the slicer & shredder.
Fresh Truffles$$$
A little weird, hear me out: last Christmas I got fresh truffles shipped frozen from Europe and it was the best gift I’ve ever unwrapped. Order from a purveyor like Marky’s and tuck in a truffle shaver.

The Splurge: For the One Who Has Everything
When you really want to wow someone. These are the buy-it-for-life gifts that get gasps on Christmas morning.
KitchenAid Design Series in Evergreen$$$$
The stunning deep-green mixer with the hand-turned walnut bowl. Even if they already own a KitchenAid, trust me, they want this one. (I know I do.)
Grinds, doses, and pulls café-quality shots right on the counter. The gift that makes their morning, every single day.
Staub or Le Creuset Dutch Oven$$$$
Heirloom quality, wildly versatile, and beautiful enough to live on the stove.
The alternative pick! Made in France from ceramic, lighter than cast iron, and gorgeous. It goes stovetop to oven to table, and it pairs perfectly with the Emile Henry pie dish.
KitchenAid Pasta Roller & Cutter$$$
Hands-down the most fun attachment there is. Fresh pasta night turns into a whole event.
Pantry & Finishing Touches
Not everyone wants another gadget. Bundle three or four of these in a basket and you’ve made an instant hostess gift.
Once you bake with the good stuff there’s no going back. (Haitian vanilla is gorgeous too.)
Your Gift-Shopping Questions, Answered
The questions I get asked most every December:
What’s the best gift for someone who loves to cook?
One really good tool they’ll use every day. A great chef’s knife is my number one answer. It makes every meal easier, and most home cooks never buy themselves a good one.
What can I get a cook who already has everything?
Go for an upgrade or an experience: the Evergreen KitchenAid (even if they own a mixer), a KitchenAid attachment like the pasta set, or fresh truffles shipped straight to their door.
What are good kitchen gifts under $25?
A Microplane zester, an offset spatula, a citrus press, pinch bowls, and a portion scoop.
Cheap, used constantly, and perfect stocking stuffers.
A Little Note Before You Shop
Here’s my one piece of chef advice: you don’t have to buy the whole kitchen. One really good tool beats a drawer full of gadgets every time. Give the thing they’ll reach for on an ordinary Tuesday, and they’ll think of you every time they use it.
If this list helped, save it for later on Pinterest and come say hi on Instagram. Tell me what’s on your list!
However you celebrate this season, I hope your kitchen is warm, your people are close, and there’s something delicious on the stove. Merry Christmas, friends. — Tabi
